Eudora Setup

To show the exact settings for your email adddress, enter your email address below.

1. Launch Eudora

  • Use your mouse to click on the Start menu.
  • Mouseover Programs to display the secondary Programs menu.
  • Mouseover Eudora to display the Eudora submenu.
  • Mouseover Eudora in the submenu and click once to launch the Netscape browser.
  • If Eudora does not appear on the Programs menu, review your software installation process.

2. Open the New Account Wizard

  • Once the program is active click on the Personality Tab.
    (Tabs are located below the left pane.
    The Personality Tab is the rightmost tab with an image of two faces for an icon)
  • Highlight the existing persona and right-click on it once to display the context menu.
  • Mouseover New in the context menu and click once to open the New Account Wizard.
  • Even if you already have an Internet E-mail service defined, you should continue to add a new service for Cbeyond email. This will not disrupt any existing email account(s).

3. New Account Wizard

  • After completing the steps above the New Account Wizard will open.
  • Click Next

4. Create New Account

  • Check the radio button to Create a brand new email account.
  • Click Next

5. Personal Information

  • In the Your Name field enter your name as you would like it to appear in the From field of a message.
  • Click Next.

6. Email Address

  • Enter youraddress@yourdomain.com in the E-mail address field.
  • Click Next.

7. Login Name

  • Enter youraddress+yourdomain.com in the Login Name field.
  • Click Next.

8. Incoming Email Server

  • Enter mail.yourdomain.com in the Incoming Server field.
  • Check the radio button for POP as the type of server you are using.
  • Click Next

9. Outgoing Email Server

  • Enter mail.yourdomain.com in the Outgoing Server field.
  • Check the box to Allow Authentication.
  • Click Next

10. Finish

  • After clicking Next in step 9 the Success screen seen below should be displayd.
  • Click Finish to save your settings.
  • After clicking Finish the Eudora Inbox will be displayed and you will be able to send and receive email meassages.
  • To check your email click on the File menu, mouseover Check Mail and click once.

Autocheck Messages

Now that your new email account has been setup, you will want to tell the server to check for new messages. The following steps will take you through the process.

11. Open Eudora Options Window

  • With the Eudora mail client open click on the Tools menu.
  • Mouseover Options... and click once to open the Options Window.

12. Mail/News Account Settings: Server Settings

  • Click on the Checking Mail category in the left pane to display these settings in the right pane.
  • Enter mail.yourdomain.com in the Mail Server field
  • Enter yourdomain.com in the Login Name field
  • Enter 15 minutes (or less) in the Check for mail every...minutes field.
